I began this project with the replication of a small sculptural artifact from the Fargo House in Buffalo, NY. I then manipulated my artifact through collaging (the acts of cutting, copying and pasting) both through drawing and through modeling. The process of collaging generated new readings of the artifact and gave it new spatial implications. Finally, the artifact was then scaled up to human scale and its program changed from sculpture to house. This house is designed for a copy editor, complete with basic living amenities, including a main living space and stair characterized by a multi-story bookshelf.
